This surgery is for women with a limited amount of extra skin usually confirmed to the lower abdomen and a limited or minimal stretching of the abdominal muscles. It is also an alternative for women who do not want the more extensive full abdominoplasty and the longer recovery.
Mini Abdominoplasty or Mini Tuck differs from a full abdominoplasty in at least one respect. Only the skin below the belly button is elevated and “redraped”. The umbilicus is left alone and the skin may be temporarily cut around it to allow access to the upper abdomen and tightening of the muscle.
The abdominal muscles can be tightened, just as in a full abdominoplasty, by repairing the gap between the rectus muscles from the pubic bone to the uppermost part of the abdomen (Xiphoid). Once again the benefits may also extend to the pubic area which is lifted and tightened but not usually the upper thighs. Mini-abdominoplasty is usually combined with liposuction of the upper abdomen. Full abdominoplasty and liposuction are usually not recommended for men and women who are morbidly obese.
The excess skin below the belly button is removed. The muscle may be tightened if it has been stretched. The surgery takes 2 to 3 hours and requires an overnight Klonopin no prescription is needed stay. All skin stitches are absorbable. Drains to remove fluid from under the skin are removed in 3-4 days. The wounds are all healed in 7-10 days, but strenuous sports are limited for 6-8 weeks until the muscle repair is strong. You can resume work in 7-10 days.
Ideal candidates are :
1. Aged 20 and beyond
2. Women having saggy skin eg. women who have delivered / women having undergone major weight loss
3. Men having saggy skin, having undergone major weight loss
It is particularly good for older women with a fatty “pannus” or fold of skin and fat that hangs down.
An incision that is hidden in a high bikini cut results in the appearance of a blemish-free flat tummy.
